Forum update complete
Posted by Zion on May 2, 2008 @ 2:24 AM  |  Comments: 4  |  Views: 70
Now that Vbulletin V3.7 is no longer in release candidate stage, I have updated our Vbulletin to 3.7.

I didn't read up on the new features but there are supposedly a few, along with the obvious security fixes.

Enjoy

Note : I have only updated about 2% of the current skin to be 3.7 compliant. You may experience issues (i.e bad links etc.) until I complete the skin update (has to be done manually so it takes time)

[Release] Resonate 0.35
Posted by hardhat on Apr 30, 2008 @ 2:56 AM  |  Comments: 3  |  Views: 79
I've been waiting too long to release this. So although the "Go Online" menu isn't functional yet, I'm release this for comments and looking for level editors.

Check out the end of the readme file for tips on how to play. Here is the summary from the readme file:

Resonate is a fast paced undersea rail shooter. Your goal is to evolve into
a thresher shark and become king of the ocean. On normal difficulty the
player starts as a Sea Urchin (level 2). Hit the blue striped
targets to collect evolution up. Collect eight and move up a level to Sea
Horse (level 3). Miss a target that collides with you and move down to
Zooplankton (level 1). If you’re hit too many times, the adventure ends
and you need to try again.

Features

- five hero forms: Zooplankton, Sea Urchin, Seahorse, Stingray, Thresher Shark
- high score tracking for each game
- enemies in various attack formations
- three kinds of power ups
- level editor for Windows, Linux or MacOS based on fltk and OpenGL

Download the PSP game for custom firmwares (includes game and level editor source code)

Download the Windows build of the level editor (version 0.9a)

GTA IV street date broken by A…

The release of Grand Theft Auto IV on the 29th of April is a large event, for both the industry and Rockstar Games, even though retail copies of the title shipped to stores earlier this week Rockstar Games has enforced a strict street date of the 29th of April.

This hasn't stopped local retailer DVDCrave from shipping out several copies of the title early, with a few lucky Aussies getting their hands on Grand Theft Auto IV today, five days ahead of schedule.

A photo of an early copy sent in from a reader who wished to remain anonymous.

DVDCrave has addressed the error on their front page, making the following statement on their homepage:

Quote:
Quote:
Due to a shipping error three of our customers might well have received their copies of GTA4 this morning...

Please appreciate that this was an error on our part and that DVDCrave is committed to abiding by the official world wide street date of Tuesday the 29th.

The release of this game is a huge event, so please hang in there until the 29th as you won't be disappointed!

Rockstar Games has also confirmed for us that only a few people got their hands on the title, but we think it's a little more than 3 customers, with several of our forum members confirming they've received the title in the mail today.

PALGN contacted DVDCrave for a comment, but they simply re-iterated the message posted on their home page with no further explanation

GTA IV : 'better than all the …

We've seen our fair share of previews on Rockstar's crime drama opus, Grand Theft Auto IV, but we've yet to hear from someone who has enjoyed the bullet-riddled adventure in its entirety -- until Xbox World 360 editor Rob Taylor, after 24 hours of play time, triumphantly viewed the ending credits with the knowledge that he was the first person on the planet (aside from a gaggle of Rockstar employees, we assume) to finish GTA IV. Can someone be envied to death?

Fulfilling his civic duty as a gaming journalist, Taylor gave his impressions of the complete work in a spoiler-free interview with GamesRadar -- unsurprisingly, he was a fan. The fourth installment apparently "craps on all the others" in the franchise, and the main character, Niko Bellic, is "most amazing protagonist in any game [he's] ever played." We suggest perusing the remainder of his colorful commentary to help pass the remaining twenty-three days and nine hours until the game lands in our quivering, anticipatory laps.

PicoDrive for PSP v1.40b - Gen…

Notaz has released a new version of the best Genesis/Sega CD emulator for the PSP.

Here is what he had to say about the release :

Quote:
This is a bugfix release only, don't expect any speed improvements. It also has a few new features.

SVP emulation is working, but it's unplayable (too slow), because dynarec is not implemented (it needs too much work, and I want to work on something else, again). The dynarec from GP2X version is not suitable, because it's ARM only and non-portable.

Full changelog below:

* Fixed sprite masking code. Thanks to Lordus for explaining how it works.
* Added "disable sprite limit" option.
* Added black level adjustment to display options.
* Changed reset to act as 'soft' reset.
* Added detection for Puggsy (it doesn't really have sram).
* Some small timing adjustments.
* Added support for SVP (Sega Virtua Processor) to emulate Virtua Racing. No recompiler for PSP version though.
* Changed config file format, files are now human-readable. Game specific configs are now held in single file (but old game config files are still read when new one is missing).
* Fixed a bug where some key combos didn't work as expected.
* Adjusted fast renderer to work with more games, including VR.
* Fixed a problem where SegaCD RAM cart data was getting lost on reset.
* PicoDrive now comes with a game config file for some games which need special settings, so they should now work out-of-the-box. More games will be added with later updates.

Amazing news from the EpsxE team

Quote:
It has been long time since the previous ePSXe status update. During this time the ePSXe development has been on hold and our lives have changed a lot, probably just like yours. In summer 2007 we decided to continue working in ePSXe encouraged by the users support even after 4 years without updates. ePSXe is currently in final testing and we hope to release a new version very soon. We wanted to thank you for your support and show you some screenshots from games that should work better in the next release.

Posted by Zion on Apr 5, 2008 @ 12:46 PM  |  Comments: 0  |  Views: 284
New release from Testerhook.
This program is a zooming utility for No$gba.

Here is what he had to say.

Quote:
Hello, everyone.
This is another tool for No$gba. If you have not patience to wait the new NDS2xGL, you can try this one.
My English is poor, so I can not describe this program exactly.
Just Try it for yourself.

myZoom V1.7.20
--Fix Bug in V1.7.19 about delete uncompressed rom.
--Fix Bug about Load ROM in V1.7.18.
--Fix Bug in Load Rom function.
Sometimes Games can not load save file.
--Skin is normal. You can use BMP or JPEG for the Skin.
Note: The JPEG is the BEST for 16bpp desktop.
--Add a new shortcut keys for FullScreen. That's 3(below F3).
So, the shortcut keys are these:
1(below F1): Switch to Single Window
2(below F2): Switch to Double Windows
5(below F5): If you switch to single window, you press this key to zoom the upper screen or lower screen of no$gba
8(below F8): Turn Single Monitor On/Off
0(below F10): normal --> turn left --> turn right --> normal ...
--Now, you must press right mouse to move upper screen.

How to use:
--Extract all files into no$gba directory/subdirectory, run myZoom.exe/myZoomSoft.exe.
if you extract all files into other place, you need to run No$gba.exe and myZoom.exe/myZoomSoft.exe separately.
--Click right mouse on main window of this program to adjust settings.
--Press left mouse + right mouse to move lower screen(none border and none all border).
--Press right mouse to move upper screen.

P.S. Firest jpg used GPU filter + hq2x; Second jpg used GPU filter only.

myZoom V1.7
--You can Load ROM with 7Zip compressed.
ALL myZoom Files must be in the no$gba directory/subdirectory.
--You can use BMP or JPEG for the Skin. BETA VERSION.

myZoom V1.6
--Add FullScreen function. Select FullScreen in the menu, then you can press the right mouse on blank portion to choose your favorite picture.
Note: If the size of this picture equals your Monitor's resolution that you can get the best result.
--If your Desktop is 16bit, myZoom will run faster than 32bit.(use D3D or OpenGL-----but if you use Filter, OpenGL will not faster than 32bit)

myZoom V1.5
--Supports Kega Fusion Plugins.
--Some Bugs fixed.

myZoom + myZoomSoft = myZoom V1.4
V1.4
New Features:
--Three kinds of Render API: CPU, Direct3D 9, and OpenGL
--Add some shortcut keys.

V1.0
Main Features:
--Two Zoomed Windows, independently moveable.
